David Hegarty, President, holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from Loma Linda University, a Master of Music in Organ Performance from Andrews University, plus two additional years of study toward a Doctor of Musical Arts at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. He is a prolific composer and arranger, having served on the editorial staff of Lorenz Publishing Company where he was editor of The Sacred Organ Journal. He is also published by Hal Leonard Publications, Broadman Press, Sheet Music Magazine, and Hegarty Music Press. As a concert artist, he has been featured in venues ranging from Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center to San Francisco’s Davies Hall. As a theatre organist, he has served as the principal organist at San Francisco’s Castro Theatre since 1978. He also plays regularly at the Stanford Theatre, Palo Alto, and gives monthly pops concerts at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco. David is an avid film music researcher and specializes in writing and performing transcriptions and arrangements of the music from Hollywood’s Golden Age.

 

Harry Garland, Ph.D., Treasurer, is Chairman of Garland Actuarial LLC, where he is responsible for their management and systems consulting practice. He holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from Kalamazoo College, and a Ph.D. degree in biophysics from Stanford University. Dr. Garland has served on the faculty of Stanford University and as assistant chairman of the department of electrical engineering. He was co-founder of Cromemco, Inc., an early microcomputer systems company, and served as president of the company for 12 years. Following the sale of Cromemco he joined Canon as vice president of Canon Research Center America, a position he held for 11 years. He is the author of three books, and has been awarded 20 U.S. patents. In addition to his work at Garland Actuarial, he is very active in the community. He has been assistant organist at the Castro Theatre since 2004. He has also served as Board President for the non-profit Industry Initiatives for Science and Math Education, and is Trustee Emeritus of Kalamazoo College.


Lauren Woodland, Secretary, is an attorney at Browne George Ross LLP where she practices business and entertainment law. Lauren graduated from the University of Southern California magna cum laude, received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, and was an associate at White & Case LLP. Prior to law school, Lauren enjoyed a 25-year career as an actress appearing in more than 50 commercials, guest starring in more than 20 television programs, and starring as a series regular in four television series including “The Young and The Restless,” for which she received an Emmy nomination. Lauren’s love of California comes from her family’s long history in the state, and the work of her Great Great Aunt Julia Morgan, architect of Hearst Castle. Lauren lives in Los Angeles, where she is active in organizations that support the arts and education.
